Not to eat on the Day of the Fast (Day of Atonement), as it is said, “For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted (in that same day)*The M S. has here incorrectly והאבדתי “and I shall destroy” which is in the next verse and refers to the violation of the prohibition of work on the Day of Atonement. shall be cut off from among his people” (Lev. 23:29).
